Position Summary The position is for one-year collaborative project with oil sands industry on the conversion of real-field samples to value-added products via novel low-GHG emission approaches. The developed methodology and products will contribute to the circular economy and waste-to-value efforts. Stipend: 43,000 CAD /year plus benefits as applied under UofA postdoctoral program office. Duties Development of conversion methods of oil sands materials to value-added products. Synthesis and characterization of the proposed products. Development of associated SOP and hazard assessments. Minimum Qualifications B.Sc. degree in chemistry (organic) Ph.D. degree in chemistry or chemical/materials engineering (obtained within the past 4 years to qualify for the PDF requirement) Experience with oil sands, bitumen or model compounds Record of peer-reviewed publications Preferred Qualifications Hand-on experience with characterization techniques of solid materials To apply, please attach the below documents: Cover letter Curriculum vitae Copies of three representative publications
