Identifying the molecular underpinnings of chemically gated signaling in the brain in health and disease. To do this, the postdoctoral researcher will use electrophysiology, imaging and genetic techniques to primarily study cultured cells and different mouse model. As a member of my lab, I will also expect the postdoctoral researcher to participate in lab activities such as lab meetings, attend conferences and also help with the training of other lab members. During a typical working week, the postdoctoral researcher would be expected to arrive in the lab by 9 am and work until 6pm and, in some cases, during the weekend depending on the need of the project.
